1. Citizens can now file RTI applications online in all central government ministries and departments through a portal. The facility will be launched by the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, V Narayanasamy in New Delhi this evening. At present, it is available only to 40 ministries, departments and commissions.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday announced its decision to buy long-term government bonds worth Rs 80 billion (nearly $1.3bn) to pump more liquidity into the country's banking system.

3. Government has decided to set up a 20 member committee to make in-depth analysis of the reasons for backlog in filling up of reserved vacancies. The committee headed by the Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will suggest measures to enhance the employability of reserved category candidates.

4. The Reserve Bank of India, RBI has further relaxed the Statutory Liquidity Ratio, SLR to provide more funds to banks for lending.
5. Market regulator SEBI has allowed mutual funds to trade directly on debt platforms of recognised stock exchanges.

6. The United States has imposed economic sanctions on a Pakistani Islamic school in Peshawar. The US Treasury describes the Ganj Madrassa in the city as a terrorist training centre which provides support to al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

7. India welcomes BRICS Biz Council pact to partner for African development.

8. The state-owned iron National Mineral Development Corporation Power Ltd. today signed an Mou with the IL&FS Energy Development Ltd to set up a 500-MW power plant at Gonda in Uttar Pradesh.

9. Government says Sex Ratio in country has increased to 943 females per thousand males as per latest Census report.

10. Virat Kohli at sixth position in ICC T20 rankings. At eighth, Suresh Raina is the second Indian batsman in the top-10 with Yuvraj Singh being a distant next best at 16th. but there is no Indian presence in the top-10 of the bowlers' list in the latest ICC Twenty20 Rankings issued on Wednesday.

11. Famed Pakistan Paceman Wasim Akram on Wednesday announced that he had married his Australian girlfriend, Shaniera Thompson, saying he has started a new life on a happy note.

12. Rupee ends at all-time low of 64.11 against dollar.
