1. India's economic growth slumped to 4.4 percent during the quarter ended June 30,due to poor showing of manufacturing, mining and agriculture sectors, government data showed Friday.

2. Indonesia and Pakistan have signed a free trade agreement (FTA) and expect to take their bilateral trade to $2 billion by next year.

3. Syndicate Bank has appointed "Sankaran Bhaskar Iyer" as workmen employee director on the board of directors for three years from the date of his taking over charge of the post on or after August 31.

4. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is looking into the complaint against State Bank of India (SBI) for shaming students and their parents for defaulting on their education loan.
